LSPWCD, along with numerous ditch and reservoir companies, augmentation plans and local municipalities is a member of the Water Rights Association of the South Platte (WRASP).  WRASP serves as a lobbying group to the Colorado General Assembly on matters related to proposed State legislation regarding water issues.  WRASP is a well-known and well-respected organization in Colorado and prides itself on defending Colorado water law and the prior appropriations doctrine.  WRASP works on a consensus basis and is effective at advocating for sound policies on legislation within the State of Colorado.
